Founded as a family business in Altshausen in 1979, today DreBo Werkzeugfabrik GmbH is a well-known company among the top manufacturers of carbide-tipped rock drilling tools and chisels for professional users.
DreBo started 1979 with under 1,000 m² of production area and just a handful of employees in Hohentengen. Today, DreBo has more than 17,000 m² of production area and over 400 employees at the locations of Altshausen and Bad Saulgau-Krumbach.
The first developed carbide tipped rock drill was our SDS-plus drill bit. This quickly established itself on the market and was therefore first replaced after 20 years by the powerful 2-cutter 4-Plus.
Since 1999, we have also sales, packaging and logistics operation in Pittsburgh, PA (USA) for optimal service in the North and South American market. This location offers our customers just in time service across their respective time zones.
With the integration of professional chisel production at the Altshausen site in 2014, forging technology was integrated on a large scale for the first time. At the same time, a new logistics center was opened in Ravensburg-Schmalegg (LCS). Conversion to the latest warehouse technologies (warehouse management system) also began in order to be able to permanently meet the constantly increasing requirements of a continuous supply chain.
In 2015, the new test and demonstration center was opened in Altshausen. It features special test facilities and a customer-friendly demonstration area for our tools as well as a modern materials laboratory.
In 2019, DreBo celebrated its 40th anniversary in a major event for all employees and their families.
